The 4.0L V6 in the fifth-generation 4Runner is not known for picking up easy horsepower, which makes SXTH Element's dyno results for this CPLT intake worth looking at. Their test showed an increase of 10.58 peak wheel horsepower and 9.68 lb-ft of peak wheel torque compared to the factory intake.
The complete intake replaces the factory airbox and intake tube with a molded XLPE system, a large dry-flow filter and a magnetic airbox lid. You get more airflow and a stronger 1GR-FE intake sound, while the built-in Helmholtz resonator helps control the harsh resonance that can show up around 3,800 to 4,000 RPM with other aftermarket intakes.

Dry-Flow Air Filter
The large dry-flow filter uses a six-inch inlet that tapers down smoothly to the factory MAF sensor diameter. It does not require filter oil, making regular inspection and maintenance less messy.
SXTH reports up to 99.52% filtration efficiency from laboratory testing performed under ISO 5011 and SAE J726 standards. The test was conducted at an airflow rate of 300 m³/h.

Installation
The SXTH CPLT intake installs in place of the factory airbox and intake tube without requiring permanent vehicle modifications. It retains the factory mounting points and MAF sensor, and the MAF section is sized to work with the stock ECU calibration. No tuning is required after installation.
