Product Description
SPL Parts adjustable tie rod ends replace the factory outer tie rod ends on rear-wheel-drive BMW E9X 3 Series models. They are designed for lowered and track-driven cars where changes to ride height, caster, or front control arm geometry can move the steering linkage out of its ideal range.
When the suspension moves through its travel, an incorrect tie rod angle can cause unwanted toe change at the wheel. That condition is commonly known as bump steer. SPL’s adjustable pivot and included stainless-steel spacers let the outer tie rod position be corrected for the vehicle’s suspension setup, helping the steering stay more predictable through bumps, braking zones, and corners.
The kit uses curved 6061-T6 aluminum turnbuckles, Teflon-lined FK Heim joints, and high-strength hardware to maintain articulation at full droop. On cars that sit substantially lower than stock, the added clearance can also help prevent the outer joint from binding and placing excess load on the inner tie rods.

Before You Buy
These are performance tie rod ends, not a direct replacement for worn factory parts on an otherwise stock daily driver. Their value comes from correcting steering geometry after suspension changes. Plan on a professional alignment after installation and after setting the bump steer spacers. SPL’s installation instructions specify that exposed thread at the FK rod end must not exceed 0.25 inch for safe engagement.
