Product Description

Once you start tuning an F55, F56 or F57 Cooper S, the factory intercooler can have a harder time keeping intake temperatures consistent through repeated pulls. This Rev9 intercooler replaces the stock core with a much thicker bar-and-plate unit that can absorb and shed more heat while the car stays in boost.

Rev9 rates the intercooler for more than 700 horsepower. That is a capacity rating, not a claim that the intercooler makes 700 horsepower. The real benefit is having more intercooler capacity for a tuned MINI, upgraded turbo setup or a car that regularly sees hard driving in warm weather.

The inlet and outlet retain the factory connection size, and Rev9 lists the intercooler as a direct bolt-on replacement. Its black anti-corrosion finish also keeps it fairly low-key behind the lower grille.

Before You Buy

• Confirm that your MINI is a Cooper S and not a JCW or base Cooper.
• Check the engine designation on later cars, especially 2019 models affected by the LCI update.
• Inspect the factory charge connections and seals during installation. Replace worn seals rather than reusing parts that may cause a boost leak.
• The front bumper cover must be removed to access the factory intercooler.
