Fitment Information
- Volkswagen Type-1 Beetle / Bug (1960, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, 1968, 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974)
Fitment Note: Fits the air-cooled Type-1 Beetle through the 1974 model year only. Does not fit 1975 and later US-spec Beetles, which use a different steering column configuration.
Specs & Features
- Designed to work with an NRG quick release hub - not compatible with the NRG thin quick release or NRG quick tilt system
- An NRG quick release unit is required to complete the installation. Running this hub without a quick release will place the aftermarket steering wheel too close to the column stalks.
- This hub is not compatible with the NRG Thin Quick Release or the NRG Quick Tilt system. Compatible with all standard NRG quick release versions (1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0).
- Works with any 6-bolt pattern aftermarket steering wheel, including Momo, Sparco, NRG, and similar brands.
- Made from anodized 6061-T6 aluminum in a one-piece solid construction.
- This is a non-crushable hub adapter and does not replicate the energy-absorbing collapse function of the OEM steering column.
- NRG designates this product for off-road and competition use only.
- Horn and turn signal functions are retained approximately 99% of the time per NRG.
Pairs well with:
- NRG Quick Release 2.0 for 6-Bolt Steering Wheels (Multiple Colors) — a quick release unit is required to complete the steering wheel hub installation on this application. Running the SRK-185H hub without a quick release will place the steering wheel too close to the column stalks.

NRG Short Hub Steering Wheel Adapters were designed for aftermarket steering wheels that utilize the NRG quick release hub. Each hub bolts between the steering console and your quick release to provide a perfect fit. Please note this item is not compatible with the NRG thin quick release or NRG quick tilt system.
NRG short hub steering wheels are made from high quality aluminum and designed to utilize one solid piece construction for maximum durability and usability.
