If your exhaust uses electronic valves and you want to control them yourself, this kit gives you a standalone controller instead of leaving the valve position to the car. It also works when you add an electronic-valved exhaust to a vehicle that did not come with factory valve control.

The kit is offered for exhausts with one or two electronic valves. Select the single-valve version for an exhaust with one valve actuator or the dual-valve version when the exhaust has one actuator on each side.

Product Description

This kit makes sense when the exhaust already has electronic valves but the car does not have the wiring or programming needed to operate them. It can also replace the factory control side when you would rather open and close the valves yourself.

The main thing to get right is the number of valves. A single-exit or single-valve exhaust needs the one-actuator kit. An exhaust with one valve on each side needs the two-actuator kit. Ordering the dual kit for a car like the G80 M3 gives you the actuator and controller wire for both sides.

The controller does not change the exhaust by itself. The difference in sound comes from the muffler and bypass arrangement already on the car. If the exhaust does not have an electronic valve or a place to install the supplied actuator, this kit will not add a valved exhaust path on its own.

Electronic vs. Vacuum Valves

• Electronic valves use an electric motor mounted directly to the exhaust valve.
• Vacuum valves use a pneumatic actuator, vacuum tubing and a vacuum pump or engine vacuum source.
• This kit is only for electronic exhaust valves.
• It cannot convert Valvetronic's vacuum-operated universal mufflers to electronic operation.

Installation Notes

• Mount the controller inside the vehicle where it will stay protected from water and exhaust heat.
• Connect the selected number of actuators to the controller using the supplied wiring.
• Route all wiring away from the exhaust, driveshaft, suspension and other moving parts.
• Connect the controller to a functioning 12V power outlet.
• Confirm that both valves open and close correctly before securing the wiring.
• Some exhausts may require application-specific actuator springs, mounting hardware or heat shields that are not included.

• Electronic controllers, RF modules and related electronics are covered by Valvetronic Designs' one-year limited warranty.
• Electronic remotes and valve components are covered by a one-year limited warranty.
• Coverage begins on the purchase date and applies to the original purchaser.
• Warranty coverage is not transferable.
• Exhaust sound or tone is not considered a warrantable issue.

Before You Buy

• Confirm that the exhaust uses electronic valves. This kit does not operate vacuum-actuated valves.
• Count the valves before selecting a configuration. One exhaust valve requires the single kit, while two valves require the dual kit.
• This is valve-control hardware. It does not include a muffler, exhaust piping or a complete exhaust system.
• Check whether your exhaust requires separate actuator springs, brackets or heat shields.
• If the vehicle already has factory active exhaust, confirm the supplied actuator and mounting arrangement before ordering.
• Operating the exhaust with the valves open may increase sound beyond local noise limits.
