Make your BMW 330i or 430i louder when you want to hear the B46 or B48, then close the valve when you want the car closer to its factory sound. This Valvetronic Designs axle-back works with the factory BMW exhaust-valve controls, so the sound changes with your drive modes just like the original exhaust.
With the valve open, the exhaust bypasses the muffler for a deeper and more aggressive sound. Close the valve and the exhaust gases are routed through Valvetronic's quad-chambered muffler, bringing the sound back down for cold starts, highway driving or any time you do not want the car as loud.
The system is made from T304 stainless steel with mandrel-bent piping and TIG-welded connections. It uses the factory mounting points and designated cut locations, while the dual 3.5-inch tips give the rear of the car a much better look than the original outlets.

Fitment Notes
- Fits BMW 330i and 430i models with the B46 or B48 2.0L turbocharged engine.
- Fits applicable rear-wheel-drive and xDrive models.
- Does not fit the BMW M340i or M440i. Those models use a different Valvetronic exhaust system.
- Does not fit the G42 BMW 230i.
- Does not fit the BMW 330e plug-in hybrid due to the location of the hybrid battery.
- Valvetronic lists 2025 models as compatible with modification.
How the Valved Exhaust Works
This system uses an OEM-style electronic exhaust valve and connects to the factory BMW valve controls with the included extension harness. You can change the exhaust sound through the factory drive modes without adding a separate remote or controller.
- Valve open: Exhaust bypasses the quad-chambered muffler for a deeper and louder sound.
- Valve closed: Exhaust is routed through the muffler for sound levels closer to the factory exhaust.

Installation
This axle-back uses the factory exhaust mounting points and designated cut locations. The original exhaust must be measured and cut before the Valvetronic axle-back is installed. Professional installation is recommended if you are not comfortable cutting and aligning exhaust piping.
The included extension harness connects the electronic valve to the factory BMW exhaust-valve wiring. No separate remote or standalone valve controller is needed when the factory valve system is present.
