Product Description
The factory charge-air cooling system can heat-soak during repeated acceleration, track sessions, high ambient temperatures or after increasing boost. As coolant temperatures rise, intake air temperatures can also increase, causing the ECU to reduce power to protect the engine.
The CSF 8154 heat exchanger replaces the original front-mounted unit with a larger two-row, 42 mm core. Its increased cooling capacity helps the charge-air system shed heat faster and recover more effectively between pulls. This makes it particularly useful on tuned B48 and B58 vehicles, although it can also improve temperature consistency on otherwise stock cars driven in demanding conditions.
CSF designed the heat exchanger around the factory cooling-system housing. CNC-machined brackets and OEM-style quick-connect fittings allow it to install without cutting or permanently modifying the vehicle. A metal rock guard protects the exposed core while maintaining airflow, and the included mounting provisions retain the factory transmission oil cooler arrangement.
This is the front heat exchanger for the liquid-cooled charge-air system. It does not replace the vehicle's primary engine radiator or the intake-manifold charge-air cooler.
