Fitment Note: Installing this 1-piece headlight assembly requires modification to the factory grille. The 2001-2004 Tacoma came from the factory with a 2-piece grille and headlight opening that does not accommodate a 1-piece housing without trimming or cutting the grille surround. This is not a simple plug-and-play installation. Plan for grille modification before purchasing. Many owners remove the factory grille entirely and install an aftermarket grille with a 1-piece headlight opening to make this swap clean.

Frequently Asked Questions

• Why does the grille need to be modified?
  The factory 2001-2004 Tacoma grille has a 2-piece headlight opening with a center bar dividing the headlight area. This 1-piece housing is a larger single unit that does not fit through that opening without trimming or removing the center divider. Most owners either cut and modify the factory grille or swap to an aftermarket grille that already has a 1-piece opening. Plan for that work before you order.
• Do bulbs come included?
  No. Both low beam and high beam use a 9003 dual-filament bulb. Pull your existing bulbs from the factory housing before removing it and they drop straight into the new unit.
• What is the difference between black trim and chrome trim?
  Both are the same 1-piece crystal housing design. The black trim corner version has a black housing interior and black corner trim. The chrome version has a silver reflective interior and chrome corner trim. Purely cosmetic difference between the two options.
• Will this fit a 2005 or newer Tacoma?
  No. The 2005 Tacoma was a completely new generation with a different front end and headlight design. This kit is for 2001-2004 only. We carry separate headlight options for 2005 and later Tacoma models in our lighting catalog.
