Product Description
Larger G87 exhaust systems and midpipes can take up more room through the center tunnel than the factory piping. When that happens, the original chassis brace may sit too close to the exhaust or prevent the larger section from fitting properly.
This Valvetronic brace replaces the factory piece and provides additional room around the exhaust. That allows the car to retain an underbody brace rather than leaving the original brace off because it contacts the new piping.
This is not being sold as a handling upgrade. Its practical purpose is exhaust clearance and support. If your current exhaust already clears the factory brace without touching or rattling, there may be no reason to replace it.
The brace is made from brushed T304 stainless steel and attaches at the original mounting points. It was developed specifically for the G87 M2 and should not be confused with Valvetronic's separate G80/G81/G82/G83 brace.
Installation Notes
- Safely raise and support the vehicle before working underneath it.
- Remove the factory underbody brace and position the Valvetronic brace at the original mounting points.
- Check exhaust clearance before tightening the brace.
- Torque the mounting hardware according to BMW service specifications.
- Inspect the exhaust with the system cold and again after it reaches operating temperature.
- If the exhaust touches the brace, adjust the exhaust connections and hangers before driving the car.
- Recheck for contact, rattling and loose hardware after the first few heat cycles.

- This part fits the BMW M2 G87 only.
- It is intended for additional exhaust clearance, not as a conventional handling or suspension brace.
- Confirm whether your exhaust actually conflicts with the factory brace before ordering.
- Valvetronic does not publish confirmed compatibility with every third-party G87 exhaust or midpipe.
- Check the exhaust manufacturer's parts list because some complete systems already include their own extended-clearance brace.
