Valvetronic Exhaust for Jeep Wrangler JL / JLU 2.0T & 3.6L (18-26) Blackbear Valved

Fitment Notes

• Fits JL 2-door and Wrangler Unlimited JLU 4-door models.
• Select the correct version for the 2.0L turbo four-cylinder or 3.6L Pentastar V6.
• Does not fit the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid.
• Does not fit models with the 3.0L EcoDiesel or 6.4L HEMI V8.
• Does not fit the previous-generation Wrangler JK or JKU.
• Valvetronic states that the system works with factory bumpers and receiver hitches as well as most aftermarket versions. Confirm clearance if the Jeep has a nonstandard rear bumper or hitch setup.

Product Description

The main reason to buy the Blackbear system is sound control. Open the valves when you want the Jeep louder, then close them when you are getting on the highway, leaving early in the morning or simply do not want to listen to the louder setting.

With the valves closed, exhaust gases are routed through the quieter side of the rear section. Valvetronic tunes this setting to keep the sound smoother and reduce the frequencies that usually cause highway drone. Opening the valves provides a more direct exhaust path and a noticeably louder sound. The 2.0L turbo and 3.6L V6 will still sound different from one another, but both receive the same two-mode control.

The axle-back is the better fit if you want valve control while keeping the factory resonator. It will be the more restrained of the two complete configurations. The cat-back adds the engine-specific midpipe and deletes the factory resonator, so this is the version we would choose if the goal is a larger change in overall volume and tone.

The system is built from 2.5-inch mandrel-bent T304 stainless steel and finished in satin black. It mounts to the Wrangler without cutting or welding, although the pneumatic valve-control system still requires additional installation beyond simply bolting the exhaust in place.

Installation Notes

• The exhaust sections bolt to the factory mounting locations without cutting or welding.
• The vacuum pump, valve controller and associated lines must also be installed.
• Select the midpipe that matches the Jeep's engine.
• Check clearance around aftermarket bumpers, receiver hitches, suspension components and skid plates before tightening the system.
• Position and align the exhaust before fully tightening the clamps.
• Recheck clamps and connections after the first few heat cycles.

• T304 stainless-steel exhaust tubing and welds: Limited lifetime-of-ownership warranty
• Mufflers and resonators: Three-year limited warranty
• Vacuum pots, mechanical valves and electronic remotes: One-year limited warranty
• Electronics, including the vacuum pump, RF module and controller: One-year limited warranty
• Warranty applies to the original purchaser and is not transferable.
• Exhaust sound or tone is subjective and is not treated as a warrantable issue by Valvetronic.

Before You Buy

• Confirm whether the Jeep has the 2.0L turbo or 3.6L V6 before selecting a configuration.
• Choose the axle-back if you want to retain the factory resonator.
• Choose the cat-back if you want the engine-specific resonator-delete midpipe included.
• The midpipe-only option is not a complete exhaust system.
• This system is not listed for the Wrangler 4xe, EcoDiesel or 392.
• The valves require the supplied control equipment to switch between sound settings.
