20-0785-FL SINGLE CATCH CAN KIT - PCV (Positive crankcase ventilation)

• The anodized aluminum catch can bracket mounts to the front RH side of the cylinder head. 
• Starting in 2004 with the Gen IV LS engines, General Motors replaced the PCV valve with a 2.5mm fixed orifice. This move was, presumably, to save production costs and eliminate a serviceable part. 
• Note: A PCV valve serves a few purposes in the crankcase; promote negative pressure and prevent boost pressure. Also, in the event of a backfire, the PCV valve prevents combustible vapors from igniting in the crankcase.
• The PCV catch can kit improves the performance of the Gen IV LS crankcase ventilation system. The catch can runs inline between the PCV valve and the intake manifold. When the intake manifold pressure is close to or greater than atmospheric pressure, the PCV "check" valve closes and, thus, this hose experiences no flow. Conversely, the PCV hoses will experience "metered" vacuum when the engine is idling, steady state cruising, and decelerating. This would normally draw unwanted crankcase vapor, unspent fuel, and oil sludge into the intake manifold immediately after a high load run. Because the OEM 2.5mm orifice port is restrictive, a replacement baffled oil cap is included to draw as much blowby from the crankcase as possible.
• Shown in the image is an A/T Grand Sport Corvette LS3 install. Notice how the baffled oil cap hose routes above the RH engine cover on wet sump engines.
• Shown in the image is an Z06 Corvette LS7 install. Notice how the baffled oil cap hose routes underneath the RH engine cover on dry sump engines.
• This PCV catch can kit is compatible with both wet and dry sump engines. It also compatible with the OEM engine cover.

  1. Because alternator placement, 20-0785-FL is not compatible with ZR1 (LS9). However, 20-0786-FL is compatible.

20-0786-FL SINGLE CATCH CAN KIT - CCV (Crankcase ventilation)

• The anodized aluminum catch can bracket mounts to the RH hood latch. 
• To retain factory functionality, the CCV catch can runs inline between the crankcase vent (CCV) port and the intake pipe. At low loads, this catch can experiences atmospheric pressure. However, when the engine is at high load (WOT), these vents will experience high flow out of the crankcase. This would normally lead to oil and sludge accumulation in the air filter intake pipe. This catch can kit is compatible with the dry sump LS3, LS7, and LS9. As shown below, the crankcase vent comes from the reservoir on these engines.
• The catch can kit is also compatible with the OEM engine cover.
• This catch can kit is also compatible with the standard wet sump LS2 and LS3.
• Note the different direction of the catch can top port fitting below.

20-0787-FL DUAL CATCH CAN KIT 

• The anodized aluminum catch can bracket mounts to the front RH side of the cylinder head. 
• This dual catch can kit includes both the PCV and CCV catch can kits for the ultimate in engine protection. Shown below is a wet sump LS3 engine.
• Shown in the image is a dry sump LS7 engine.
• These kits are compatible with the OEM engine cover (showing image in the cover off)

Product Description

Radium Engineering catch cans feature large 10AN ORB ports, a 4AN ORB drain port, 2-step oil separation baffling, and an O-ring sealed dipstick. These kits include everything needed for a complete installation. The catch can is plumbed in-line with a PCV valve and draws out oil and water condensation from the crankcase gasses that would otherwise be drawn into the intake manifold. Furthermore, the closed system prevents unwanted oil vapors from entering into the cabin.
