This intake is mainly for someone who wants a lot more turbo sound from the S58. It moves both filters behind the front grille, so you will hear the turbos pulling air and spooling much more clearly than you do with the stock intake. The filters are available in black, red or blue.

Fitment Note
This version is listed for the G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4 with the S58 engine. Bull Boost does not list the G81 M3 Touring or G87 M2 for this exact intake, so we would not assume it fits those cars without confirmation.
Specs and Features
- Dual front-mounted cone filters
- Filters sit behind the front grille area
- Designed for the 3.0L twin-turbo S58 engine
- Much louder intake and turbo sound than the stock airboxes
- Choice of black, red or blue filters
- Bull Boost claims improved airflow, throttle response and turbo efficiency
Product Description
BMW keeps the S58 pretty quiet through the factory airboxes. You can hear some turbo noise with the windows down, but not nearly as much as you would expect from a twin-turbo M3 or M4.
This setup does the opposite. The open filters sit at the front of the car, so you get a lot more turbo spool and intake sound when you get into the throttle. You will also hear more air moving through the intake when you let off.
Bull Boost says the intake improves airflow, throttle response and turbo efficiency, but it does not provide a dyno chart or horsepower number. We would buy this one for the front-mount layout and the extra turbo sound, not because you are expecting a specific horsepower gain from the intake by itself.
Installation Notes
- This is not a quick underhood filter swap. The filters sit behind the grille, so expect to remove or loosen the front bumper cover during installation.
- Bull Boost does not provide a product-specific installation guide.
- No tune requirement is listed. If the car is already tuned or has upgraded turbos, check with your tuner before changing the intake setup.
- Professional installation is recommended if you are not comfortable removing the bumper and routing intake pipes through the front of the car.
Before You Buy
The downside to putting the filters behind the grille is that they are more exposed to water, dirt and road debris than filters inside the engine bay. Check them regularly and avoid spraying water directly into the filters when washing the car.
No CARB Executive Order number is published for this intake. Check your local emissions rules before installing it on a street-driven car. Does not ship to California.
Pairs Well With
- Mishimoto S58 Charge Air Cooler for BMW G80 M3 / G82 M4 - The front-mount intake changes how air reaches the turbos. This Mishimoto manifold handles the compressed air after the turbos and makes more sense for a tuned S58 that needs additional charge-air cooling.
- CSF Transmission Cooler for BMW G80 M3 / G82 G83 M4 - This is for G8X cars with the ZF8 automatic. We would look at it if the car is tuned, sees repeated pulls or spends time at the track and transmission temperatures are becoming a concern.
