Product Description
The factory FL5 turbo inlet uses a rubber section with abrupt geometry before the turbocharger. Mishimoto replaces that section with a precision-cast aluminum elbow shaped for a smoother transition into the turbo inlet. On Mishimoto’s flow bench, the design showed 17.2% less restriction than the factory unit.
This is a focused airflow upgrade, not a full intake system. It is a good choice for Type R owners who are improving the intake path in stages or who want to pair a turbo inlet with an aftermarket air intake. Choose Black for a more understated engine-bay appearance or Red to match the FL5’s factory red accents.
Before You Buy
The turbo inlet is located between the intake system and turbocharger, so inspect the factory intake connections during installation and make sure every clamp is seated correctly before driving. This part is not a substitute for an intake system, tune, or other airflow modification, though it can complement those upgrades.
