Fitment Note: This filter is specific to the 3.0L V6 diesel OM642 engine in the W164 ML-Class. It does not fit any gasoline-powered ML-Class, the ML63 AMG, or any 4-cylinder diesel variant. Two filters are included in the pack since the OM642 V6 diesel uses one filter per bank. Both filters should be replaced at the same time.

Two things worth knowing before you order. First, this is a pack of 2 filters, not a single filter. The OM642 V6 diesel in the W164 ML-Class is a 90-degree V6 with a separate airbox on each bank, and both filters need to be replaced at the same time, which is exactly why K&N sells this as a pair. Second, this filter fits the diesel ML-Class only. If your ML is gasoline-powered, this is not the correct filter for your engine. The 3.0L V6 diesel covers the ML280 CDI, ML300 CDI, ML320 CDI, and ML350 BlueTEC depending on the model year and market specification.

The OEM part number above applies to the factory air filter for the OM642 3.0L V6 diesel across the W164 ML-Class. Since the ML W164 uses two filters, two OEM filters are required per service interval. The K&N 33-2940 replaces both as a matched pack of 2 and is washed and reused rather than discarded at each service interval.
