Fitment Note: Fits the 7 Series G11/G12 with the B48 2.0L and B58 3.0L engine families only. Does not fit the 750i or 750Li with the N63 4.4L V8, or the M760Li with the N74 6.6L V12. Those engines use a different airbox and a different filter. If you have a 750i or M760i, check K&N's fitment or contact us for the correct filter for your car. The same 33-3079 filter is also used in several other BMW models sharing the B48 and B58 engine family including the G30 5 Series 530i, G01 X3, G02 X4, G05 X5, and others. One filter per order. The G11/G12 uses a single airbox with one filter element, so one unit covers a complete service.

The B48 and B58 engine families in the G11/G12 share the same OEM air filter element and part number. The 33-3079 is a direct drop-in replacement for this OEM element.

Does this fit the 750i or M760Li?
No. The 750i uses the N63 4.4L V8 and the M760Li uses the N74 6.6L V12. Both engines have a different airbox and need a different K&N filter. The 33-3079 is only for the B48 2.0L and B58 3.0L engine variants in the 7 Series. If you have a 750i or M760Li, use K&N's vehicle lookup at knfilters.com to find the right one for your car. -
How many filters do I need?
Just one. The G11 and G12 use a single airbox with a single filter element. One 33-3079 covers a complete air filter service on your 7 Series. -
Will this void my BMW warranty?
No. K&N confirms this filter does not void factory vehicle warranties. It is designed to work with all OEM MAF sensors and vehicle electronics without triggering any error codes or modifications. -
How do I clean it when it gets dirty?
The 33-3079 is cleaned with the K&N Recharger Kit (part number 99-5000), which includes the cleaner and oil. Do not clean with compressed air or engine degreaser and do not apply the oil to a dry filter. Follow the K&N cleaning instructions on their website to avoid damaging the media. After cleaning and re-oiling, let the filter dry for 20 to 30 minutes before reinstalling.
The 33-3079 drops straight into the factory airbox on the B48 and B58 powered 7 Series, which covers the 730i, 740i, 740e iPerformance, and 745e iPerformance. The 750i and M760Li use different engines and different filters, so if you have a V8 or V12 7 Series this isn't the right one for you.
One filter covers a complete service. Service interval is up to 50,000 miles in normal driving before it needs cleaning, which is done with the K&N Recharger Kit rather than replacement. Buy it once and you're done buying air filters for the life of the car.
