Fitment Note: This catback fits the MK8 Golf R only. It retains the factory electronic exhaust valves for factory-like operation. Fully clamp-on, no welding required. Installation requires cutting the factory exhaust pipe at the designated point, after which the IRL system clamps on. Sold as a complete catback system.

The 24 lb weight reduction over the OEM exhaust is one of the more meaningful specs here since the factory Golf R exhaust is notably heavy for what it does. The factory electronic valves carry over and work exactly as they do from the factory, so you still get the quiet mode when you want it and the full aggressive MK8 Golf R exhaust note when the valves open. Installation requires cutting the factory pipe at the connection point, so plan for a one-way commitment on the OEM system.
