Fitment Note: This brace is a direct replacement for the OEM brace located under the mid pipe on the G80 M3 and G82/G83 M4. It is primarily needed when running an aftermarket midpipe or catback system that contacts or sits too close to the factory brace. Installs using the original OEM bolts with no additional hardware required.

- Increases exhaust clearance to eliminate contact and rattling between the brace and aftermarket exhaust systems
- Allows use of a 4-inch midpipe without any spacers or modifications

The reason this exists: when you run a larger aftermarket midpipe or catback on the G8X, the factory brace under the mid pipe sits too close to the new pipe and the two make contact, which shows up as a rattling or vibration that's hard to track down. Swapping this extended brace takes about five minutes using your existing OEM bolts and gives the midpipe the clearance it needs to run clean without touching anything. If you already bought the IRL catback, this brace is already in the box. If you're running a different brand's exhaust and picked up a rattle after install, this is almost certainly the fix.
