Product Description

The Invidia N1 and N2 are two of the most popular catback exhaust options for the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota 86 platform. Both use 60mm SUS304 stainless steel mandrel bent piping with CNC machined flanges, both exit with 101mm tips, and both include all bolts, gaskets, and hardware for a direct bolt-on install. The difference between them comes down to the muffler design and how each one sounds.

The N1 uses a straight-through muffler design positioned close to the tips, which is the louder of the two and gives the FA20 a more aggressive and raw exhaust note. It is a well-known setup in the BRZ and 86 community for a reason. The tradeoff is that it is on the louder end for daily driving and does produce some drone, particularly at highway speeds. For people who primarily drive on back roads or occasionally track the car, that tends to be a non-issue. If you are doing a longer highway commute every day, it is worth factoring in.

The N2 uses a cannon-style muffler that sits further back from the tips, which gives it a slightly different look at the rear of the car. Sound-wise it retains a deep aggressive tone but is a bit more refined than the N1, with less drone at cruise. It is the better pick if you want a noticeable exhaust note that is easier to live with on a daily basis. Both systems are built the same way and both come with the resonator included, which helps take some edge off the sound compared to a resonator-delete setup.
