Product Description

The Flowmaster Flow FX 71249 is a universal 3-inch straight-through muffler for a custom exhaust that needs a center inlet and center outlet. Its 4 x 9-inch oval case gives you a little more room for sound control than a small round muffler while still fitting many street-car, truck, classic, and custom exhaust layouts.

Inside, the Flow FX uses a perforated 3-inch core and high-temperature sound-absorption material instead of a traditional chambered design. The result is a deep, mellow performance tone with a moderate exterior sound level. It is a good fit for someone who wants the exhaust to sound stronger without making every drive overly loud inside the vehicle.

The 409 stainless steel case is fully MIG welded, and the reversible design lets your exhaust shop install it in either direction to suit the layout. It accepts 3-inch pipe on both ends and can be clamped or welded into place.

Planning a Custom 3-Inch Exhaust

Make sure the 24-inch overall length works with your available space before ordering. You will need a single 3-inch pipe entering and leaving the muffler, plus the appropriate clamps, hangers, tubing, and exhaust tip for your build. It is also good to mock up the final location before welding so the case clears suspension travel, driveshaft movement, and heat-sensitive components.
