Compatibility Note
The MXS 5.0 is for 12V lead-acid batteries only. It is not the right charger for a lithium LiFePO4 battery, and it is not a jump starter.

Product Description
The CTEK MXS 5.0 is the charger to keep around for a weekend car, a truck that does not get driven every day, or anything else that spends more time parked than running. It charges a 12V lead-acid battery, then switches to maintenance mode once the battery is full so it can stay connected during storage.
Its 4.3-amp output is a solid fit for most automotive batteries, including AGM and EFB batteries used in many newer vehicles. The built-in temperature sensor adjusts the charging voltage as conditions change, while the eight-step program handles the charging cycle automatically. Clamps are included for occasional use, and the included eyelet lead can stay connected to the battery for a quicker hookup.
What to Know Before You Buy
This is a charger and maintainer, not a jump pack. It needs a wall outlet and time to charge the battery. The reconditioning setting can be useful for a lead-acid battery that has been sitting, but it will not repair a battery with damaged or worn-out cells. If the battery will not hold a charge after a full charging cycle, the battery itself may be the problem.
