Product Description

Bilstein 24-186636 is the rear B8 5100 shock for select Silverado 1500, 2500, and 3500 applications running 2 to 4 inches of rear lift. Its 46mm monotube construction and gas-pressure design are made to provide more controlled damping than a worn factory-style rear shock while matching the longer suspension travel of a lifted truck.

Unlike a front 5100 ride-height-adjustable shock, this is a fixed-length rear shock. It does not raise the truck or use a snap-ring spring perch. The truck must already have the correct amount of rear lift for this shock’s compressed and extended lengths.

Before You Buy

Measure the truck’s actual rear lift before ordering. Do not select this shock based only on the front lift or the advertised lift-kit height. Confirm the truck is not equipped with Quadrasteer or ZX3 electronic suspension, and inspect the rear mounts and hardware before installation. Replace rear shocks in pairs.
