The S58 engine inside your G87 M2 is a masterpiece of engineering, but from the factory, it is hidden under a sea of dull, utilitarian plastic. That might be fine for a standard 3-series, but an M-car deserves better. The AutoTecknic Dry Carbon Engine Bay Trim Set is the ultimate makeover for your under-hood aesthetics. This set replaces the boring plastic panels with glorious, high-gloss carbon fiber that matches the aggression of the car's exterior.
You will see a lot of cheap carbon fiber online. Most of it is "wet lay"—basically fiberglass wrapped in carbon cloth and slathered in resin. It's heavy and often wavy. AutoTecknic uses Pre-Preg "Dry" Carbon. The carbon fabric is impregnated with resin before it goes into the mold, and then it is baked in an autoclave (a high-pressure oven). This pushes out all air bubbles and excess resin. The result? A part that is razor-thin, featherlight, and has a weave clarity that looks three-dimensional in the sunlight.
Fitment is everything. This is the V2 Generation kit, which means AutoTecknic refined the molds to create a sleeker, lower profile. This updated design ensures there is no rubbing against the hood liner and improves the visual flow across the strut towers.
