Product Description
Swapping a T56 Magnum into an A70 Supra usually means piecing together a bellhousing, shifter, crossmember and wiring, then figuring out how to make everything fit the chassis. AutoSports Engineering builds this kit around the MK3 Supra and Toyota JZ engine, so the major conversion parts are already matched.
The kit starts with a brand-new TREMEC Magnum-F instead of a used T56 with an unknown history. ASE modifies the transmission case for additional tunnel clearance, then adds a two-inch offset shifter that puts the shifter in the factory console instead of leaving you to modify the interior around it.
The billet crossmember and urethane mount support the transmission in the A70 chassis. You also get a choice between the Bowler wireless Bluetooth speed module or a PNP harness for a standalone ECU, giving the swap a clean way to handle the vehicle-speed signal and reverse lockout.
Clutch and Driveshaft Requirements
A clutch and MK3 Supra driveshaft are required and are not included with the base conversion kit. AutoSports Engineering offers aluminum and carbon-fiber driveshafts for the factory Toyota rear end or a Ford 8.8 conversion.
ASE also offers Clutch Masters FX1000 and Tilton ST246 twin-disc clutch setups. The FX1000 includes an adjustable hydraulic release bearing. The ST246 requires a compatible hydraulic release bearing to be purchased separately.
Before You Buy
Confirm the engine, rear differential, clutch choice, transmission ratio and wiring setup being used in the car. The crossmember, mount, offset shifter and wiring option are already included, so they do not need to be purchased separately.
