Run gasoline, E85 or any mixture of the two in your LS1-powered fourth-generation Camaro, Firebird Formula or Trans Am without switching maps every time you fill up. The Advanced Fuel Dynamics ProFlex Commander reads the actual ethanol content in the fuel and adjusts injector operation as the mixture changes.
Advanced Fuel Dynamics reports gains of 7 to 10 percent in wheel horsepower and torque when running E85. You can still fill the car with pump gas when E85 is not available, then switch back to ethanol later without draining the tank or loading a different map.

Fitment Note
This kit only fits 1998-2002 GM F-Body models equipped with the 5.7L LS1 V8. It does not fit 1993-1997 LT1 cars or Camaro and Firebird models equipped with the 3.4L or 3.8L V6.
Commander Options
- Standard Commander: Made for naturally aspirated cars with factory injectors or mild bolt-on modifications. This is the right option for most street-driven LS1 F-Bodies. Manufacturer part number PFC-4GFB-1-1.
- Commander Pro: Made for turbocharged, supercharged or heavily modified cars using 60 lb/hr, 600cc or larger injectors. It uses more precise injector management for larger injectors and gives you room to make additional changes later. Manufacturer part number PCP-4GFB-1-1.
If the car is naturally aspirated with factory-size injectors, go with the Standard Commander. If it has boost or larger injectors, go with the Commander Pro.
Fuel Sensor Options
- Standard GM/Continental Sensor: The right choice for stock and mildly modified fuel systems. AFD recommends it for applications making less than 700 crank horsepower with fuel flow up to 600 liters per hour.
- AFD E-SENSE Sensor: Made for higher-flow fuel systems and builds making 700 horsepower or more. It provides greater flow capacity and adds fuel-temperature monitoring through the ProFlex Connect app.
The selected ethanol-content sensor is included with the kit.

How the ProFlex Commander Works
The ethanol-content sensor measures the actual mixture of gasoline and ethanol passing through the fuel line. The ProFlex Commander uses that information to electronically adjust injector operation for whatever blend is currently in the tank.
BlendSense technology refreshes the ethanol reading every 30 milliseconds. There are no buttons to push or separate gasoline and E85 maps to select. The free ProFlex Connect app also lets you view ethanol content, locate nearby E85 stations and run system diagnostics from an Apple or Android phone.

Fuel System Requirements
AFD has tested the standard LS1 fuel system with this kit, so a naturally aspirated car with factory injectors does not automatically need a fuel-pump or injector upgrade to run E85.
Supercharged, turbocharged and higher-horsepower cars may need larger injectors, a higher-flow pump or other fuel-system upgrades. The ProFlex Commander manages changing ethanol content, but it does not replace the proper calibration required for larger injectors or forced induction. AFD recommends an E85 or flex-fuel-specific tune for those setups.
Installation Information
AFD estimates installation at under an hour using common hand tools. The supplied injector harness connects between the factory harness and injectors. The included ethanol sensor and vehicle-specific fuel lines install in the factory fuel-feed line.
Use eye protection and relieve fuel-system pressure before disconnecting any fuel line. Check every quick-connect fitting for a secure connection and inspect the system for leaks before driving.
Emissions Information
The ProFlex Commander does not remove or replace emissions equipment. It reads the ethanol content in the fuel and electronically adjusts injector operation so the engine can run gasoline, E85 or any mixture of the two.
Advanced Fuel Dynamics does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for this kit. This product cannot be sold or shipped to California for use on a pollution-controlled vehicle.

- Forced-induction and larger-injector setups may require additional fuel-system upgrades and a custom E85 or flex-fuel tune.
