Run E85 in your S85-powered M5 or M6 while keeping the option to fill up with pump gas whenever you need it. The Advanced Fuel Dynamics ProFlex Commander reads the ethanol content in the tank and adjusts injector operation in real time, so the V10 can run gasoline, E85 or any mixture of the two without changing maps.
The Standard Commander works without an E85-specific tune on a stock or lightly modified naturally aspirated S85. Supercharged cars and builds using larger injectors should use the Commander Pro.

Fitment Note: These are the US-market model years. Advanced Fuel Dynamics lists a broader worldwide range of 2005–2010. This kit is made for the 5.0L S85B50 V10.
Standard Commander or Commander Pro?
- Standard Commander: Choose this for a naturally aspirated M5 or M6 with factory-sized injectors. It works with the stock calibration or a compatible gasoline performance tune without requiring an additional E85 tune.
- Commander Pro: Choose this for a supercharged S85 or a car using injectors rated at 600cc/60 lb/hr or larger. It provides more precise control over higher-flow injectors.
The Commander Pro will also work on a stock S85 if you plan to add a supercharger or larger injectors later.
Standard Sensor or E-SENSE?
- Standard Sensor: The right option for stock and mildly modified fuel systems.
- E-SENSE Sensor: Made for higher-flow fuel systems and higher-horsepower builds. It also adds fuel-temperature monitoring through the ProFlex Connect app.
The selected ethanol sensor is included with the kit.
Dyno-Tested on an E60 M5
Advanced Fuel Dynamics tested the ProFlex Commander on an E60 M5 that made 432 wheel horsepower during its gasoline baseline. With the car reading 78% ethanol, it gained 21 wheel horsepower and 14 lb-ft of torque. Results will vary based on the car, ethanol content and modifications.

Installation
The supplied harness connects between the factory wiring and all ten S85 fuel injectors. The vehicle-specific fuel line adds the ethanol sensor without making you piece together a universal kit.
Accessing the injectors requires removing the airboxes, intake plenums and several engine-bay panels. Advanced Fuel Dynamics estimates about an hour for installation, but plan on more time if you haven't worked around the S85 intake system before.
Fuel System Requirements
A supercharged M5 or M6 may need upgraded fuel pumps or injectors to supply enough fuel for full E85. Advanced Fuel Dynamics recommends logging or dyno testing a supercharged car to confirm that the fuel system can support the ethanol blend you plan to run.
Emissions Information
The ProFlex Commander does not remove or replace emissions equipment. It reads the ethanol content in the fuel and electronically adjusts injector operation so the engine can run gasoline, E85 or any mixture of the two.
Advanced Fuel Dynamics does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for this kit. Redline360 cannot ship non-CARB-compliant products to California for use on pollution-controlled vehicles.
Before You Buy
- Confirm that your BMW has the 5.0L S85 V10.
- Choose Commander Pro for a supercharged car or injectors rated at 600cc/60 lb/hr or larger.
- Supercharged cars should be logged or dyno tested to confirm that the fuel system can safely support the intended ethanol blend.
- The kit already includes the ethanol sensor, vehicle-specific fuel line and ten-injector wiring harness.
