Run gasoline, E85 or any blend in your N52-powered BMW 328i with the Advanced Fuel Dynamics ProFlex Commander. The system reads the ethanol content in the fuel and adjusts injector operation in real time, so you do not have to drain the tank or switch maps when the fuel blend changes.
AFD's test BMW 328i picked up 16 wheel horsepower on E85 compared with pump gas. Results will depend on the car, fuel and current modifications, but it gives you a good idea of what the N52 can gain from ethanol.

Fitment Notes
- Fits rear-wheel-drive and xi/xDrive models with the 3.0L N52 engine.
- This kit is specifically made for the N52. Some E9X 328i models came with the N51 SULEV engine, so verify the engine code on the car.
- Does not fit the N54 or N55-powered 335i, S65-powered E9X M3 or N20/N26-powered F30 328i.
- AFD says a separate flex-fuel tune is not required. Tuning required by forced induction, larger injectors or other engine modifications is separate.
Choose Your Commander
Standard Commander: This is the right setup for most naturally aspirated N52 cars running factory injectors. It works with stock cars, basic bolt-ons and compatible performance gasoline tunes.
Commander Pro: Choose this version if your 328i is turbocharged, supercharged or running 600cc/60 lb/hr or larger injectors. It provides more precise injector control for higher-output setups.
Choose Your Fuel Sensor
Standard Sensor: Recommended for stock or mildly modified fuel systems. It provides accurate ethanol-content readings without adding features most street cars will not need.
E-Sense Sensor: Made for modified, higher-flow fuel systems. It also adds fuel-temperature monitoring and additional real-time information through the ProFlex Connect app.
Fuel Line Setup
Select stock fuel lines if the car still has its original-style fuel system. If the fuel lines have been modified, select the modified option and provide the current line and fitting information so the system can be set up correctly.
Emissions Information
The ProFlex Commander does not remove or replace emissions equipment. It reads the ethanol content in the fuel and electronically adjusts injector operation so the engine can run gasoline, E85 or any mixture of the two.
Advanced Fuel Dynamics does not publish a CARB Executive Order number for this kit. California emissions compliance will depend on the vehicle and its complete modification setup.

ProFlex Connect App
The free ProFlex Connect app lets you check the ethanol content in the tank from an iPhone or Android device. It can also help locate nearby E85 stations and provides system monitoring and diagnostic information.

Installation
AFD rates the installation at under an hour with common tools. The electrical side uses vehicle-specific connections, but the fuel system will need to be opened to install the sensor and fuel lines. Relieve the fuel pressure and check every connection for leaks once the installation is complete.
