Fitment Note: This rear recovery point fits all trim levels of the 6th generation Toyota 4Runner. It is a single rear recovery point, not a pair. Before installing, remove the wiring clip located above the mounting position. All necessary mounting hardware and spacer plates are included. Torque all bolts to 75 ft-lbs / 101 Nm.

The factory rear tow hook on the 6th gen 4Runner is not rated for off-road recovery pulls. This NYTOP point mounts to the frame rather than the bumper, which is where recovery loads need to go. At 10,000 lbs working load limit, it handles real recovery situations, and the angled design keeps tension off the rear bumper when the strap or shackle isn't pulling perfectly straight. The spacer plates let you fine-tune the position for your specific D-ring or soft shackle setup. Before you start the install, pull the wiring clip from above the mounting point, NYTOP's own installation guide calls this out specifically and it's easy to miss.
