Most Toyota Tacoma rock sliders use round tube construction. NYTOP went a different direction with a flat plate design that has a 25-degree angled bottom surface. The idea is that a flat angled surface slides over rocks more cleanly than a round tube that can catch and roll. The top is flat and 3 inches wide, which makes it a functional step rather than just a protective rail. At 160 to 190 lbs per pair depending on bed length, these are heavy duty enough that NYTOP put them through stress testing at 2,866 lbs of load with only 2mm of flex and full spring back.
