Product Description
MaxTrac 910205 is an extended rear axle U-bolt set for 2002-2008 Dodge Ram 1500 2WD trucks equipped with 3-inch or 4-inch rear lift blocks. The additional length accommodates the taller block while maintaining the clamping area needed to secure the axle, leaf spring and lift block assembly.
The round 9/16-inch steel U-bolts feature a gold zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance. Matching installation hardware is included so your installer can replace the original U-bolts rather than reusing hardware that has already been stretched and torqued.
Why Correct U-Bolt Size Matters
Your Ram's rear U-bolts maintain clamping force between the axle housing, lift block and leaf-spring pack. U-bolts that are too short may not provide sufficient thread engagement, while incorrectly sized or loose hardware can allow the axle to move against the lift block.
Confirm the axle diameter, lift-block height and U-bolt dimensions before installation. These U-bolts are specifically sized for the listed Ram 1500 application using a 3-inch or 4-inch rear block.
Installation Notes
- Do not reuse previously installed or previously torqued U-bolts.
- Install the U-bolts evenly and tighten the hardware in a cross-pattern.
- Use the torque specification supplied by MaxTrac or your professional installer.
- Do not use an impact wrench for final tightening unless specifically permitted by the installation instructions.
- Verify that the lift block's locating pins are fully seated before tightening the U-bolts.
- Recheck the U-bolt torque after your initial break-in mileage and during routine suspension inspections.
- Professional installation and a post-installation alignment inspection are recommended.
MaxTrac Wheel and Warranty Note
MaxTrac does not recommend wheels wider than 9 inches or wheels with less than 4.5 inches of backspacing. Using wheel specifications outside those limits may affect MaxTrac warranty coverage.
